The lowest starts at about ₹15.7 lakh for the full course. Hostel, food, travel and visa are extra, so plan for a total budget a little above the tuition.
A ₹30 lakh budget is enough for MBBS in several countries if you choose carefully. Below are the colleges on our website whose total tuition fee for the whole course comes to ₹30 lakh or less. Foreign fees are converted at about ₹95 per US dollar, ₹13.3 per Chinese yuan and ₹127 per pound (October 2026). Exchange rates move, so a college close to the ₹30 lakh line can end up slightly above it when you pay.

What the tuition fee does not include
- Hostel and food: charged by most universities every year; check each college page for hostel charges.
- Travel, visa, insurance and registration: one-time and yearly costs that vary by country.
- Exchange-rate changes: fees in dollars or yuan cost more in rupees if the rupee weakens.
- Licensing exam preparation: you must pass the Indian licensing exam (FMGE, to be replaced by NExT) to practise in India.
Check these NMC rules before you pay
Under the National Medical Commission's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, a foreign MBBS is accepted in India only if:
- you qualified NEET-UG before taking admission;
- the course lasts at least 54 months and is taught in English;
- you complete a 12-month internship at the same foreign university;
- the whole course is done at that one university; and
- the degree lets you register as a doctor in that country.
After returning, you complete a 12-month internship in India and pass the licensing exam. We check every college on this list against these rules before recommending it.
How to choose within your budget
- Compare the total course fee, not just the first-year fee.
- Ask how many Indian students passed FMGE from that university in recent years.
- Check the medium of instruction for clinical years and whether patients speak English.
- Prefer universities with Indian food, an Indian student community and safe hostels.
