MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) is a private state university in Kothrud, Pune, run by the MAEER's MIT group, which started its engineering college (MIT College of Engineering) in 1983; it became a university in 2017. Its School of Engineering offers B.Tech programmes in computer science and specialisations, electronics, electrical and computer, mechanical, civil, chemical and materials science. The university admits through JEE Main, MHT-CET or its own PERA-CET score plus a statement of purpose, outside the state CAP process. It was in the 101-150 band of the NIRF 2025 Engineering ranking. NIRF data shows 715 of 1,194 B.Tech graduates placed in 2023-24 at a median salary of INR 6 LPA.
