Law admission in India: BA LLB and BBA LLB
The five-year integrated law degree (BA LLB or BBA LLB) lets you start law straight after Class 12. India's top law schools are the National Law Universities (NLUs), which admit through CLAT, plus private law schools with their own tests or interviews.
The table above lists NLUs and leading private law schools with their official fees, taken from each university's own fee notice or admission page. Each college page shows how the five-year total was worked out, one-time charges, hostel and the year of the fee.

Eligibility
- Class 12 in any stream, usually with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST); some private schools ask for more.
- There is no upper age limit for CLAT.
- Students in Class 12 can apply and take the exam in the same year.
How fees work
- National Law Universities: about Rs 9 lakh to Rs 23 lakh for five years, usually including hostel.
- Private law schools: from about Rs 15 lakh to over Rs 45 lakh, often with yearly increases.
- Central and state universities such as Jamia Millia Islamia cost far less.
- Mess, deposits and some hostel charges are extra. Fees are revised each year; confirm the current fee with us before paying.
