UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies)
UPES, formerly the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, is a private university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, established in 2003. It began with a focus on energy, petroleum and infrastructure programs and has since broadened into computer science, design, law, business and other fields. Its main campuses, Energy Acres at Bidholi and Knowledge Acres at Kandoli, sit in the foothills on the outskirts of Dehradun. The School of Advanced Engineering and School of Computer Science offer B.Tech programs with many industry-linked specialisations. In NIRF 2025 UPES ranked 43 in Engineering and 45 among universities. Admission is through UPESEAT, JEE Main, board merit, SAT or CUET.
