Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) is a private deemed university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, founded by Achyuta Samanta, which began as an industrial training institute in 1992 and became a deemed university in 2004. Its engineering schools are spread across a large multi-campus area in the Patia locality of Bhubaneswar, with extensive hostels and sports facilities. KIIT has NAAC A++ accreditation and was ranked 36 in the NIRF 2025 Engineering rankings. It offers one of the larger B.Tech intakes in eastern India, with Computer Science and its specialisations forming the biggest share. Admission is mainly through its own KIITEE exam, with a separate JEE Main-based allotment route.
