Manipal Institute of Technology (MAHE)
Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) is the engineering school of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a private deemed university in Manipal, Udupi district, coastal Karnataka. Founded in 1957 by Dr T.M.A. Pai, it is one of India's oldest private engineering colleges and sits within MAHE's large residential university town, with hostels, sports facilities and a large international student community. MAHE is an Institution of Eminence with NAAC A++ accreditation, and MIT Manipal was ranked 59 in the NIRF 2025 Engineering rankings. Admission to B.Tech is through MAHE's own Manipal Entrance Test (MET), with a wide range of core and computing branches and an active culture of student projects such as solar car and Formula student teams.
