BDS admission in India: a guide for NEET students
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is India's professional degree in dentistry. Like MBBS, BDS seats are allotted through NEET-UG and official counselling, and many students who narrowly miss an MBBS seat choose BDS for a respected clinical career.
The table above lists BDS colleges in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir. Every fee comes from an official source: the state fee committee or counselling authority order, or the college's own website, and each college page names its source and fee year. More states are being added.
How BDS fees work
- Government dental colleges: the lowest fees, often under Rs 1 lakh a year, fixed by the state. Seats go through state counselling (85%) and MCC (15% all-India quota).
- Private colleges: the state fee committee fixes a fee for each quota (government/state quota, management or private quota, NRI). The same college can cost very different amounts depending on the quota you are allotted.
- Deemed universities: one fee set by the university; all seats are filled through MCC deemed-university counselling.
- Hostel, mess, university and exam fees are extra in most colleges. Fees are revised every year, so confirm the current fee with us before paying.
